Customer testimonials: Vincenzo Polizio
Vincenzo Polizio is a guy from Puglia (South of Italy) who moved to Friuli (North of Italy). Since he moved to Friuli, his love for the mountain has blossomed. When he is not going trekking, he works in a factory as a CNC machinist (lathe machines, cutter machines and other state-of-the-art machinery). As he said to us, during the “long and quite intense work shifts he could try Bivo for the first time with an absolutely positive result“.
Vincenzo has discovered the mountains not much time ago: “Puglia has the best beaches in the entire Italy, but does not have any relevant mountain. When I moved to Friuli my love for the mountain has immediately sprung. Even just looking at the mountains to the horizon I have a childish and archaic desire to explore them, climb them, “live” them! Slowly I started to spend time in the mountains, and now whenever I got any free time, I run “over there” to explore some new peaks, some new corners of the amazing, pure and wild Friuli mountains.”
After the testing Bivo during his working days, Vincenzo has used it also in his last adventure: the “Traversata Carnica” (called Path of Peace in English), a trail starting from San Candido in Trentino and ending in Tarvisio in Friuli, crossing all the Carnic Alps. Vincenzo has completed a lonely walk of more than 200 km in 9 days. He told us that for a person like him, with not so many years of experience, “facing such an adventure, alone, surrounded by this “powerful” and “de-humanized” nature and by total silence, can only be good for the spirit and soul“. In his backpack Vincenzo had put about ten Bivo packs. “I was consuming one for each day, more or less every time at noon: in a few minutes, with half a liter of water and with the Bivo shaker the meal was ready and consumed…and the 600kcalories of “new fuel” were able to drive me until night. Using Bivo I could save a lot of weight in many backpack and for sure no other meal can provide you so much energy with such a low weight!“, Vincenzo explained.
About his future, Vincenzo remains guarded: “In the next months I will assiduously spend time in the mountains, always exploring it – but not skiing because I don’t like it. I have planned something really difficult and long for the next season”. Even if at the end he does not know if he will be able to match another intense trail with the rest of his life, Vincenzo, that for good luck does’t want to let us know his next destination, confirm us that “the only certainty is that I will bring Bivo with me in the next adventure too“.
