Customers Testimonials: Giorgio Trotter

Giorgio Trotter is a loyal customer who has an extraordinary dream in his mind. We have decided to interview him to know more…enjoy the reading!

D: We would like to know first what do you do when you are not busy with your hobby , trekking and in general outdoor activity.

Giorgio: Ciao I am a manager in a Bank and I deal with the development of human resources in my organisation.

D: Coming back to your passion, we would like to know when you fell in love with mountains. Since you very a child or it all started later?

Giorgio: My love for the mountain started a lot of time ago. Just think that I had just have to throw the boots I have been using thirty years ago and that I had repaired more than four times. It was written inside: “Made in Czechoslovakia”. Then, from my initial passion for the mountain I started to love the sea, becoming a scuba diver instructor. And twelve year ago I went back to my first love, the mountain, finding the two things (scuba diving and trekking in the mountain) quite similar for emotions and life experiences they are able to give a person.

D: Tell us what your last trail was (or the one that lately gave you more emotions).

Giorgio: There is no single particular trail that gave me more emotions of another one. I can mention my first 4.000, an easy trail on the glacier of Gran Paradiso, or the celebration of my 60th birthday on top of the TOUBKAL (4.167 metres in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco). But also going up on the Corno Grande (of the Gran Sasso) by the main trail has been a great experience. As today I go to the mountains every weekend and I do both. easy trekking and hard hiking trail.

D: Did you bring Bivo with you? Can you say to our readers a reason why, according to you, it is useful to put some packets of Bivo in the backpack?

Giorgio: I brought Bivo during the Sentiero ROMA. I thought, rightly, that it could be something helpful to do this long trail of 5 days on a mountain where it is possible to go down to the valley only after reaching the hut on the top. I think it is useful to always have Bivo in the backpack. The problem is that you need to prepare it before, because sometimes there is no water in the mountain.

D: Another question can only be about your next adventure? Tell us what you have in mind for the next months…

Giorgio: My next adventure is about walking 3.655 km. I will end my working activity in the first months of 2019 and I want to reach the Atlantic Ocean walking from Bologna. It is a great challenge with my self, and the desire to go to the mountain alone for 190 days. A rite of passage from employee to retired person. I am trying to find the right solutions and Bivo can be one of those, as a way to feed me considering that I will not always have to stop in structures (like hostels or huts) and I have already thought about where to stay. One of the main problems is that I need to face the calculation of grams of weight for the backpack (I don’t want to go over 15 kg in total) and I have not solved the issue about how to do with what I will need unexpectedly during the road.

D: Lastly a question on Bivo 2.0. After having tasted it can you tell our reader of the blog in what it has improved? Are you satisfied with the progresses that we have made in the development of Bivo?

Giorgio: I find the product to be definitely improved. I can suggest that you need to improve the shaker further, so that it can fit the lateral backpack pockets. About the flavours, everybody has her own personal taste so I don’t want to say anything in particular. At the end what I like more in the Natural taste. I think it can be an useful resource to have with you, considering the low weight and the high energetic efficiency.

PS. If you are also planning your adventure write us at media@bivo.it and we will be happy to tell about it in our blog.
