Interview to Andrea Pizzato of “Montagna di Viaggi”
Andrea Pizzato is the author of “Montagna di Viaggi” (Mountain of travels), a blog which is followed by many and speaks about dangerous adventures on the mountain, but not only that. We managed to make him to try Bivo, even if he was skeptical at the beginning, and with that occasion we asked a few questions.
Do not forget to “like” also his Facebook page.
D: Hello Andrea and thank you for giving us a few minutes of your time to reply to our brief questions. First of all, we would like to know what you do for a living, when your are not busy in the mountains or you are not traveling.
Andrea: I am busy with my blog, which has become my job, a job which takes all the hours in my day, seven days a week.
D: On your blog there are articles on your experiences in the mountains divided by geographical region. Can you explain to us what pushed you to start telling your experiences and adventures, giving such useful information to outdoor enthusiasts?
Andrea: It has started as a game: at the beginning I was publishing pictures on the blog, then I started to describe also the trekking excursion and at the end social media happened, and with it the interactions with my followers.
D: Among the various travels and the adventures we imagine it is difficult to choose one, but, is there one in particular that strikes a chord with you? Can you tell us why?
Andrea: Hard to tell, especially about Dolomites. Every excursion has its own characteristics, but if I have to choose one then I choose Cortina d’Ampezzo. Here there was my first encounter with the mountain and, you know, the first love you never forget 🙂
D: Apart from the mountain, like the blog “Montagna di Viaggi” says, there is a section dedicated to travels. Tell us about you journey in Asia, Africa, America and all around Europe. How can find the time to travel both the world and our mountains?
Andrea: I had the opportunity to work for many years for a tour operator, so I could travel a lot, really a lot. Then the things changed and I left my dream of travelling for a while, dedicating myself to the mountains and to trekkings. This pause was temporary, because you never get tired of travelling: from the short hike to the long journey, every occasion is good to discover the world, but also to discover yourself.
D: Can you tell us what was the journey that you will remember for all your life?
Andrea: I think all of them, every single one left something unique in me, something special about the Country I visited. Japan, Mexico and Sri Lanka are, however, in my top list.
D: The next question concerns your next project. If you can, tell us what you have in mind for the next months. Clearly, if you don’t want to anticipate your plans, just tell us a little clue!
Andrea: No secrets. Many hikes in the mountain and a new way to discover Dolomites with a slow rythm and in deep contact with nature. I hope this year I will discover new places in the Alps and to be able to let my readers to know even more about my territory.
D: Our last question is about Bivo. In your article you suggest Bivo to your readers for their outdoor hikes. Can you suggest Bivo for who is planning a journey? If yes, why?
Andrea: I admit that with Bivo I found a loyal companion for my excursions. It is like a meal, it is very useful in the cases of excursions organized at the last moment (mine for example), of situations where there are no places to eat or holidays where you cannot find any place open. In all these cases, with Bivo, I found a solution and I assure that they are the majority of my outdoor activities.
